Why would Obama switch?

He's only moving to the Center to placate Independent voters. His personal beliefs have always been pretty far-Left, bordering on Black liberation theology or Socialism, and it's only the SYSTEM that keeps him from realizing those goals. His Chicago Public Radio interview from ca. 2001 pretty much sums up his ACTUAL positions (before he had to tone things down a bit for mass-consumption). Couldn't find it on WBEZ's site (?) but YouTube has some of the interview -- not a fan of the "emphasis added" graphics though:

I've questioned his qualifications since 2008

But not so much because of his family background -- more because he sort up popped up on the radar screens of America and instantly became the Democratic front-runner.
When I tried to find out his REAL positions, history, etc. it was all SPIN. Except for a recording from Chicago Public Radio ca. 2002 where he sounded like a radical Socialist, and a speech he have at a Chicago rally where he denounced the Iraq War.
My reaction was WTF? The guy doesn't even complete a single term in the US Senate and suddenly he's the best Democrats can come up with? With no law publications, a light voting record in Illinois, etc? Of course, being from the Midwest, I'm naturally suspicious of ANY politician from Chicago.
